OH NO THE FICTIONAL CHARACTER IN A FICTIONAL BOOK IS GAY! IT’S JUST WRONG! inothernews: Did you hear about the Big Brother contestant who is also a homophobe? Yes, Jeff Schroeder has a problem with the possibility that Harry Potter’s Dumbledore is gay.  He let loose with his anti-gay tirade, not during the regular broadcast of the show (on CBS Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), but rather during the show’s off-hour live webcast: “He’s in a school with little kids, you can’t make that guy gay!” Schroeder ranted. “It isn’t right to have it in a little kids book, and have the headmaster locked away in this magical land [be] gay. That isn’t the right kind of writing to do.” CBS, which broadcasts the popular reality show, was quick with a response distancing itself from Schroeder’s remarks: Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the house or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program. Wow, CBS — that was pretty quick!  Congrats on… not really calling out Jeff on his homophobia!  Also, as the above screenshot shows, Harry Potter… is advertising during Big Brother!  So I guess CBS would rather not piss off an advertiser than address blatant hatred on one of their shows? That’s just fucking great.
